On Set at Houghton Hall
And so, it is with a heavy heart that we wave goodbye to another uncharacteristically long, hot, glorious British summer. On the bright side, AW is finally here and, in turn brings with it an impressive line-up of newly plucked hot picks for your winter wardrobe. Of course, this meant the perfect excuse for another epic Fairfax & Favor photoshoot.
Over the years, our track record for shoot locations has been pretty on point. If last year’s AW17 campaign at Rockingham Castle was anything to go by, then the pressure was definitely on to find another corker. After pondering over several options, it suddenly dawned on us that all along, the location was right under our noses, on our doorstep, a mere hop, skip and jump away from our HQ in Norfolk.
Houghton Hall. It was perfect.
With the recent super successful launch of our one-off, limited edition Sennowe Dog Collars, our inboxes rapidly became flooded with photo after photo of our delighted customer’s beloved pooches, styling their new fashion accessory…
Ding! Lightbulb moment.
As our resident dog model, Pollo the Cocker Spaniel was booked out on another job, we were in desperate need of a stand-in. The search was officially on to find:
Fairfax & Favor’s Next Top Dog Model
We ran a competition on socials which rather unsurprisingly received an overwhelming amount of gorgeously fluffy, wonderfully waggy applicants for the job in hand (or paw, in this case). It was a tough call, but in the end, it was the dynamic Lurcher due, Giblet and Echo who bagged themselves the job.
Well what’s a quintessentially autumnal English countryside photoshoot without a star appearance of the equine variety. Cue Dilly the wonder horse! Never have we met such a patient, well-mannered and willing team member. Despite camera flashes, strange set locations, smoke machines and flappy light reflectors, she stayed cool as a cucumber throughout. Ever the professional, Dilly.
As for our human models, phwoar! Conrad and Elinor were bang on behind the lens. Styled meticulously by our wonderful new stylist Candice, who’s inspiration stemmed from AW18 catwalk collections:
“We went for a classic-meets-electric aesthetic to compliment the amazing accessories. Classic coats, knitwear, riding trousers, denim and chic trousers were given a fun and playful finish with pops of colour, fluffy textures and unexpected layering.”- Candice Bailey
Thumbs up from us, Candice!
After two days of manic pony prepping, boot strutting, still-life snapping, model posing antics, another photoshoot was all wrapped up, done and dusted for another season. Thank you as always to our fabulous team, and an even bigger, huuuuge thank you to Houghton Hall.
