I always get a flurry of excitement when I see an email addressed from Fairfax & Favor and this time was no exception. I was so in love with the new A/W 22 collection I just had to pen another blog.

This year’s new additions are a wonderful mix of wardrobe staples and luxurious mega treats! There were three items which really stood out for me: the Frances Trench, the Anglesey Boots and the Elizabeth Gilet.

The Frances Trench

I will start at the top of the pile knee deep in delicious soft butter suede, the Frances Trench is an out and out champion, in horse racing terms this trench would be described as a precocious filly! Talking of which, I know Fairfax & Favor have just got their first racehorse which I am so excited about.

I digress which is no mean feat with this showstopper…as I pulled her out of the stall …I mean when I pulled her from her blue box, she was heavy and flashy like a Gr.1 Sprinter!

The suede is of superior quality, rich in colour and SO well cut. Unlike a lot of trenches which rely on the belt to pull in and create a waist, the Frances Trench hangs beautifully with a flattering cinched in waist perfect if you like to wear it open but equally flattering buttoned up. Talking of buttons, these dark horn buttons add contrast and with their F&F detail they add to the finesse of the trench. The belt is reversible, subtle suede on one side and a lovely brown leather on the other creating a flattering contrast around the waist. I feel what really sets this trench apart is the gun flap and storm shield. It adds shape across the shoulders which makes it great for wearing over your shoulders and is perfect if you’re wearing a chunky jumper or a slinky silk dress. I think if you’re clever this trench can work really hard both dressed up or down and will be a very versatile addition to any wardrobe.

The Anglesey

Boots are undoubtedly what Fairfax & Favor are renowned for and this season I am thrilled that they have brought out a military style walking boot. The pictures really don’t do these gorgeous boots the justice they deserve. I certainly would not want to stomp through muddy fields in these beauties! I was sent the olive colour and my gosh they are scrumptious. In horsey terms I’d say these boots are like Ben Hobday’s infamous ride - Mulry’s Error the ‘Supercob’,a workhorse with a turn of foot and serious bit of class!

The Anglesey boots have gorgeous gold hardware, these details paired with the super soft and snuggly shearling lining ramps up the lux on these boots taking them from muddy field to runway ready in a heartbeat. I wore them on a crisp autumnal day shooting and was pleased as punch with how they stood up to the off road terrain and serious amounts of compliments!! I honestly could wax lyrical about these boots all day and night. Safe to say they’ve become part of Fairfax & Favor’s ‘Core Collection’ and should be part of everyone else’s . I just need them in every colour now!

The Elizabeth Gilet

On to my third and final A/W22 wardrobe addition and this sassy lady has got a lot to swish her tail about. The Elizabeth gilet in Mushroom is the jewel in anybody’s winter wardrobe. Let’s just take a minute to admire the gorgeous colour. Mushroom, although perhaps not the most flattering sounding colour, is actually pretty spot on to describe the colour of the fur. It’s grey with a hint of chocolate and tan making this the most perfect gilet to pair with any of your F&F collection. I could see this working on all manner of ladies because she’s so darn versatile. Did I mention that she is also reversible!!?

The Elizabeth gilet would work beautifully with an autumnal chunky knit polo neck to add a bit of chic for pottering to the pub. Or paired with a long sleeve dress and boots for another smart casual outfit. Or thrown over a pair of jeans and wellies for an added layer of warmth for walking your pooch. This girl is so appropriately named as she’ll work her socks off within your wardrobe.

So, there you have it! Three fine new fillies to add to the Fairfax & Favor roster which are all classic winners in their own right.

Now time to muck out your wardrobe to find room for them!

Love,
