With a rare, record-breaking, positively BAKING British Summertime rapidly drawing to a close, a ‘Big B’ was on the cards for the Fairfax & Favor show team. It was indeed time for the Landrover Burghley Horse Trials, set to impress the masses with another impeccable display of high-octane equestrian excellence.

For the fourth year on the trot, we pitched up at the Burghley Lifestyle Pavilion, delighted to be neighbouring some of our oldest and closest pals from the show circuit. Daltons, Hicks & Brown, Whale Of A Time and Koy Clothing to name a few; the shopping fanatics were in for a real treat.

The Wednesday trot up at Burghley is, we kid you not, the equine equivalent to the catwalk at London Fashion Week. It’s an opportunity for riders to ditch their usual day-to-day getup of mud splattered, green slobber stained, straw studded breeches and spruce themselves up for that all important minute on the runway.

At this year’s trot up, the boots were out in full force with numerous riders opting to fashion a flash of Fairfax & Favor.

But it wasn’t just the classic all-time fave Regina boot stealing the show. Oh no, not this year. Sarah Bullimore was spotted making a statement, looking bold and beautiful, running along at an impressively brisk pace (given the height of the heel) in her Burgundy Electra ankle boots.

New Zealand’s Caroline Powell clinched the ferociously competitive title of “Best Dressed”, looking gloriously glam in her Black Heeled Amira. Well done, Caroline!

As rider after rider strutted their stuff alongside their perfectly pampered steed, spectators started to notice an increasing number of pink boot tassels swinging along behind…

So what’s with the pink tassels? These pink tassels are actually an exclusive sneak peek of this year’s limited edition product in support of Breast Cancer Care; we were thrilled that so many of the riders opted to show their support by sporting these rather special tassels on their boots, helping to raise awareness prior to the official campaign launch in October.

It was an action packed week at Burghley for the Fairfax & Favor team. Along with a jam-packed week of greeting our lovely customers, we also managed to squeeze in an exclusive one-to-one course walk with our supported rider Abi Boulton from Tic Toc Eventing, and watched Tim Price smash it once again for a well-deserved, brilliant Burghley win. If you missed out on the action, check out the highlights on our Instagram page.

Until next year, Burghley Horse Trials!
