Leather with suede

CARE

With leather being a porous material if left unprotected it will easily scuff, stain, and fade over time. In certain situations, natural leather can peel or crack because of using the incorrect cleaning chemical or method, or conditioner, or failing to care for and preserve the leather for an extended period. Any scuff or puncture to the leather can also cause it to lift from the trainer.

Leather is a natural material and needs oil/moisture to keep it soft and supple. To stop it drying out, hardening and cracking, treat it at least once a month with Renapur Leather Balsalm. Use a sponge and work the cream into both the toe creases and around the sole unit of your shoes.

We also recommend caring for the suede panels using Suede & Nubuck Protector once a month or Liquiproof Premium Protector every couple of months – more often if you’re wearing them a lot. Spray the Suede & Nubuck Protector lightly and sparingly from at least a foot away and leave to prove for an hour. If you’re using Liquiproof Premium Protector, apply sparingly section by section, brushing it in with a soft brush until the suede has been covered.

CLEANING

Not in the washing machine or detergent, please!
Clean the leather with a neutral-coloured microfibre cloth and leave it to dry naturally. Remove mud and dirt immediately to stop moisture being drawn from the leather.

Always read the directions of the care product, and test on an inconspicuous area first. Fairfax & Favor cannot be held responsible for improper use of care or cleaning products. For any concerns, please contact our Customer Service team.

MAINTENANCE

Store your beautiful trainers away from heat, damp and direct sunlight. Where possible, store your shoes in their dustbags and blue box.

Our padded insoles are removable and replaceable to allow for use of your own as well as insole replacement which we generally advise after 6 months of use of your item. This means you can wear and love your item and be confident that, even if your insoles become worse for wear, your item will not. Please note that excess moisture that is retained in your footwear can accelerate the insoles coming loose in your shoe. Please contact our Customer Service team for more information regarding this.

Remove dried dirt or marked fibres using a soft suede brush, brushing in the direction of the suede. If it’s still dirty, use Liquiproof Eco Cleaner on light marks but dilute it heavily in warm water. If your trainers get wet, leave them to dry naturally and brush. If anything else gets onto your Edinburgh's, soak it up immediately and then wipe over with a lightly damp, neutral-coloured microfibre cloth.

MAINTENANCE

Store away from heat, damp, and direct sunlight. Where possible, store in their dustbags and the blue box provided for additional protection.

Please Note: Coloured suede & leather can transfer with wear onto other fabrics and leave a mark. Likewise, dark coloured fabrics (like denim!) can also transfer onto brighter coloured suede and/ or leathers. This is perfectly normal and won't be covered under our warranty.

Use a sponge and work the cream into both the toe creases and around the sole unit of your trainers.

Suede

CARE

Once you've used them a bit, you can treat your London's with either Suede & Nubuck Protector once a month or Liquiproof Premium Protector every couple of months – more often if you're wearing them a lot.
Spray the Suede & Nubuck Protector lightly and sparingly from at least a foot away and leave to prove for an hour. If you’re using Liquiproof Premium Protector, apply sparingly section by section, brushing it in with a soft brush until the suede has been covered.

Always read the directions of the care product, and test on an inconspicuous area first. Fairfax & Favor cannot be held responsible for improper use of care or cleaning products. For any concerns, please contact our Customer Service team.

CLEANING

Not in the washing machine, please!
Remove dried dirt or marked fibres using a soft suede brush, brushing in the direction of the suede. If it’s still dirty, use Liquiproof Eco Cleaner on light marks but dilute it heavily in warm water. If your London's get wet, leave them to dry naturally and brush. If anything else gets onto your London's, soak it up immediately and then wipe over with a lightly damp, neutral-coloured microfibre cloth.

The rubber sole of the shoes may begin to show signs of flattening after use which is an expected characteristic of frequent love and wear. Depending on the gait of the wearer, frequency of use and type of use, this may appear more apparent in some cases but this will not affect the wearability of your shoes.

Please Note: Bright coloured nubuck can transfer with wear onto other fabrics and leave a mark. Likewise, dark coloured fabrics (like denim!) can also transfer onto brighter coloured suede and/ or leathers. This is perfectly normal and won't be covered under our warranty.
