Last month, Eventing fans across the globe were fixated on the return of the Senior Euro Eventing Champs, held at Luhmuhlen, Germany. The best-of-the-brits were selected to represent our wonderful country; Piggy French, Tina Cook, Pippa Funnell, Kitty King, Laura Collett and Oliver Townend formed a tremendously strong Team GB; the battle to rise to a podium finish was on.

A week before the competition was due to kick off, two of our team members set off on a scenic drive to Aston Le Walls Eventing centre in Northamptonshire, with one Land Rover stuffed to the brim with various boots and accessories in a bid to add a sprinkling of F&F ‘je ne sais quoi’ to their trot-up outfits.

In between a busy schedule of vigorous training sessions and tactical team talks, one by one, each member of Team GB filtered into the clubhouse-stroke-dressing room, to take their ‘pick of the boot’ which would of course, in true Fairfax & Favor fashion, include a free personal boot fitting service and style consultation.

The ladies opted for the Heeled Regina in Tan with contrasting Navy tassels and Tan/Navy Hampton Belt, whilst the Gents were immediately enticed by the Houghton brogue. But it wasn’t just the riders who were treated to the get-up, every member of the team including the vet, farrier and of course Britain’s eventing World Class Performance Manager Dickie Waygood received a boot of their choice, branded cap and umbrella, because whoever knows what the weather will do!

Aside from looking tip-top in the trot up, in true Great British style Team GB put on an outstanding performance in every phase, particularly excelling around the extremely testing cross country track and galloping home to victory with a superb Team Silver.
